Unravelling European iGaming in Barcelona

The 11th European iGaming Congress & Expo took place in Barcelona between 16-18 October. INTRALOT Interactive welcomed all participants at its booth, and introduced them with great success to the newest series of its “Universal Gaming Suite” of products and services. EiG is one of the most important events of the year for the online gaming industry and presents a great opportunity to meet current and potential clients and to put a face to the communication with other peers in the iGaming industry.


EiG 2012 surpassed expectations of both planners and attendees; an – exhibition hall filled with well known companies ready to showcase their new products and solutions, networking zones for business contacts and five themed conference theaters that accommodated most intriguing panel discussions.

Summarizing this year’s main focus streams, convergence was the number one topic of discussion followed by the newest social and mobile gaming trends.



INTRALOT Interactive is proud to have sponsored the CEO Keynote Panel, which gained a remarkable high attendance. Convergence was the main focus and leading gaming experts unveiled their vision on how to take full advantage of offline, online, mobile and social in order to provide a universal gaming experience to their players. Mr. George Zenzefilis, General Manager of INTRALOT Interactive, discussed how INTRALOT solutions are designed to seamlessly combine retail, internet and mobile users with innovative gaming verticals and the necessity of constantly enhancing the game content offered to the players. He also responded many audience’s questions regarding – hot industry topics -like the new generation platforms and player centric architectures.

Traffic picked up even more during the -second day of the expo, -and several of the sessions were dedicated to the social gaming sector. Social gaming was high at the EiG agenda this year as many operators are trying to find out how it fits in their strategy and how they could make the best out of it. Talking at the video below about the next big thing in the industry, Mr. Zenzefilis pointed out “we will see an emergence of new type of games influenced by the mechanics of social gaming”.

Mobile was also one of the main topics of discussion between operators and suppliers, concluding that it is not just technology but a new business model that should be further researched and developed according to players’ needs and habits.

EiG Start-Up Launchpad, in its 5th year now, had 27 submissions of particularly high quality. The EiG LaunchPad is a platform for innovative start-ups to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts, investors and to a room full of the EiG high-level attendees.
